Through-hole technology - THT for short - is a special type of printed circuit board assembly. When through-hole assembly is used, the individual components have wire connections that are inserted through the existing contact holes on the printed circuit board. This is followed by special wave soldering, selective soldering or manual soldering by hand. With this process, the manual workload is usually significantly higher than with fully automated SMT production. Despite the high amount of work involved, THT production has been indispensable in many industries up to now, as some printed circuit boards cannot be fully or even automatically assembled.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
Even though THT production is used less and less in information electronics nowadays, these wired components are used especially for simpler products. The components themselves must also have a high current-carrying capacity, which makes through-hole assembly indispensable in many areas. Here, wiring is also necessary due to the connection to different layers of the printed circuit board.
